Welcome!

Guilford County Wide Cyber Lions (GCWC Lions) was chartered in April of 2019 and was the first cyber club in our District and the first successful one in North Carolina.  Our goal was to serve all areas of our county while making attending meetings more convenient.  It was important to run the meetings efficiently on line, while still building a strong membership base.
In our seven years, we have grown from 21 to 49 members. We meet via zoom at 7:00 PM on the last Monday of the month for one hour.  We are in constant communication and continually serve the needs of our community. Last year we completed 62 service projects … more than one a week!
We are an inclusive and diverse club and all our member have one thing in common… to serve the people of Guilford County with compassion and respect.

GCWC Featured 4th Quarter Service Projects

Our Lions are always busy! Thought I would share this with you all!

We are beginning our next round of service projects and are excited to let you know what GCWC LIONS are doing in our community.

We are helping to stock food pantries at UNCG and A&T with the necessary items needed. Gift cards for Thanksgiving baskets, for families in need, are being donated. Healthy, diabetic friendly snacks continue to be donated quarterly to 13 schools for students needing them.

Once again, we are making and donating Cancer Care bags filled with comfort items for patients at several cancer facilities.

Our annual winter coat drive, that benefits Bob’s Closet and the Interactive Resource Center, begins November 1.

Our Adopt A Street commitment continues with a scheduled clean up on Saturday, November 21.

Lions Love to Read

Guilford County Wide Cyber Lions Club loves to read and support literacy. We believe that reading is FUNdamental! In an effort to help decrease road blocks and impact improvement following the pandemic, we created Lions Love to Read.

GCWC Lions Addressing Hunger Problem

Hunger & Food Insecurity

The Guilford County Wide Cyber Lions see the hunger problem growing in our community and work to help those in need. Our projects include feeding the unhomed at the Interactive Resource Center and the folks who reside in the Pallet Homes, holding food drives to help supply food pantries, handing out food bags, donating to and supporting university food pantries, helping individual families and educating them on resources and handing out grocery store gift cards.

Thanking Frontline Workers

This is our way to thank those in the community who are always working and available to the public no matter the circumstance. They are our first points of contact even in the most distressed of times. Generally, they fall into the following industries, but not limited under: healthcare, public order and safety, hospitality, retail, social work, food industry, mail carriers, major transportation, etc. The GCWC Lions thank them every March in a variety of ways.

Winter Coat Drive

You know that kelly green coat you had to have that just sits in your closet? How about that  jacket that no longer fits your child? Please consider donating these coats to the Guilford County Cyber Lions Annual Winter Coat Drive!

The need grows annually and we accept donations all year long.

Diabetic & Special Diet School Snacks

Our Diabetic & Special Diet School Snack Program provides snack and diet specific snacks like gluten free, nut free, and diabetic friendly options to five local Title 1 (at least 57.20% of the families are identified as low income) elementary schools in our area. Each quarter we coordinate with the school counselors to do a snack drop off. This initiative allows our club to support our future leaders and young scholars while fighting hunger and promoting inclusivity.

When a local elementary school emails us for help, we welcome the chance. So many girls, as young as in third grade, are getting their periods in school. Often times, the schools do not have the necessary clothing changes for these students. We began providing Period Packs for elementary schools. Word spread and we provided more!

Guilford County Cyber Lions Turkey Drop

Thanksgiving Turkey Drop

Our Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drop provides gift cards for turkeys to 200 families at five different elementary schools.  This is one of our most popular and festive service projects. Some schools give the gift cards directly to the families while others pool the cards and provide an entire feast with other food they collect. Knowing we help make this possible is a joy to us all.

Here are some of our many other projects: Collecting socks, Donating school supplies, Preparing meals for Pathways, Preparing & donating cancer care bags, Summer parties for Pathways families, Handing out gift cards to needy, Donating shoes to students, Holding baby showers for moms at My Sister Susan’s House, Dimes for Diabetes, Gift bags for assisted living residents, Collecting and recycling eyeglasses, Providing eye exams and eyeglasses, And our list goes on and on because … WE SERVE.
